1. Overview Dlyte is committed to protecting the privacy of individuals participating in our usability testing services. This Privacy Policy outlines how we collect, use, store, and protect personal information gathered during research activities.

2. Information We Collect We collect information directly from participants and indirectly through tools and platforms used during testing. The types of information may include:

  • Name and contact details
  • Demographic data (e.g. age, household composition, tech behaviours)
  • Video/audio recordings
  • Screen activity during testing sessions
  • Responses to usability tasks and interview questions
  • Internet and device information

3. How Information Is Collected

  • Via third-party recruitment platforms (e.g. Askable)
  • Through video conferencing tools (e.g. Zoom, Lookback, Microsoft Teams, etc.)
  • From participant responses and screen activity during sessions

4. Purpose of Collection We collect data to:

  • Understand how users interact with digital products and services
  • Identify usability pain points and areas for improvement
  • Provide insights and recommendations to our clients
  • Support research documentation and quality assurance

5. How We Use the Data All data is anonymised and aggregated where possible. We do not share personally identifiable information unless explicitly agreed upon in advance. Use cases include:

  • Creating usability reports
  • Presenting findings to clients
  • Informing design and product improvements

6. Data Storage and Protection

  • Data is stored on secure servers within Australia and/or in compliance with international data privacy laws.

  • All video and screen recordings are encrypted and retained only for the project duration or as required by contract.

  • Individuals may request to withdraw at any time.
  • Participants can access or request deletion of their data in accordance with applicable privacy laws.

8. Sharing Information We do not sell or rent participant data. Information may only be shared:

  • With the commissioning client for the purposes outlined above
  • With subcontractors or platforms under strict confidentiality agreements
  • If required by law or legal obligation

9. Cookies and Tracking Our platforms may use cookies for analytics. Participants can manage cookie preferences in their browser settings.
