Usability Testing Privacy Policy
Effective Date: 17th September 2025
At Dlyte Pty Ltd (“Dlyte,” “we,” “our,” “us”), protecting the privacy of participants and clients is central to the way we run usability testing. This policy explains how we handle data during research engagements to ensure safety, compliance, and trust.
No Personal Data Collection
- Dlyte does not collect, store, or process personally identifiable information (PII) during usability testing.
- Task flows requiring entry of sensitive details (e.g. payment, addresses, or account information) are excluded from testing or replaced with non-identifiable placeholders.
- Where live environments are used, testing stops prior to the collection of PII.
Information Masking
- If customer information (such as name, address, or contact details) is displayed on screen during a session, recordings will be blurred or masked to prevent exposure of any personal data.
- All outputs provided to clients (videos, transcripts, screenshots) are anonymised.
Participant Consent
- All participants are informed about the scope and nature of the study before taking part.
- Explicit consent is obtained before any recording (audio, video, or screen) begins.
- Participants may withdraw at any time without penalty.
Data Security
- All recordings, transcripts, and research outputs are securely stored in restricted-access environments.
- Data is shared only with authorised project stakeholders and used solely for the agreed study scope.
- No participant data is sold, transferred, or reused for any other purpose.
Compliance Alignment
- Dlyte’s research practices are designed to comply with Australian privacy standards, GDPR principles, and client-specific privacy requirements.
- We regularly review our practices to ensure continued compliance with evolving privacy laws and ethical standards.
Global Applicability
These privacy principles apply to all Dlyte usability testing engagements, regardless of client, project type, or research methodology. Our goal is to ensure every study is conducted safely, ethically, and with privacy at the core.
